On Wednesday, work began on the first phase of EII’s planned international hospital building refurbishment.
The first floor is being opened up to let in more natural light and create a modern and spacious hospital entrance hall for the comfort of patients and medical staff.
EII’s 200 bed hospital draws on Scottish expertise to oversee clinical services. The hospital will also focus on medical education and clinical research.
International studies have proven that patients who are cared for and treated in hospitals that have high end academic research activities have much better outcomes.
The establishment of the hospital starts with detailed planning of clinical services and design, with the construction teams moving in to take on the physical refurbishment. This is now underway. Look out for our regular updates.
EII is supporting the Putian government’s sterling efforts to establish high quality medical services in the city and on Mazu International Healthcare City, which is located next to the Taiwan Strait.
